Ester Krumbachová became famous mainly as a set designer and costume designer, but in many cases she also played a key role in the creation of screenplays and the overall concept of films by both the Czechoslovak New Wave and films by the older generation of filmmakers (Vávra, Kachyňa, Jasný, etc.). The publication brings a selection of her screenplays and her work for film and television is comprehensively illustrated by studies by editor Jan Bernard and other accompanying materials. As a whole, the publication represents the most complete view of the screenwriting work of this exceptional artist so far.
