MUBI Notebook Issue 8 takes the theme of "food on film." Ester Krumbachová’s Murdering the Devil (1970) is featured in the magazine’s article "Into the Inferno," with text by Chloe Lizotte and film selection by Notebook’s editors. The article is an excursion into the extreme, unorthodox, and unusual sides of how food appears on screen through film history, across 9 examples from film, performance, animation, video art, and television, each of which takes the place of one of the nine circles of hell in Dante's Inferno.
